At Mission Belonging, we believe that meaningful connections grow when people come together to create, listen, reflect, and celebrate one another. This September, we invite you to join us for a special weekend that embodies that mission through two unique community events: United Against Silence Community Showcase and A Day of Belonging.
United Against Silence Community Showcase
The weekend begins with the United Against Silence: A Community Showcase, an evening of poetry & performances by the Mission Belonging community members, hosted by Seema Reza & Ryan Artes. Whether you’ve participated in a Mission Belonging program or are joining us for the first time, we invite you to experience the creativity and courage that make our community so special.
- Date: Friday, September 18th, 7pm-8:30pm
- Location: Mansion at Strathmore – 10701 Rockville Pike Rockville, MD 20852
Light refreshments will be served. Due to the sensitivity of some of the content and limited space, this event is only for ages 16 and older. This event is free and open to all (ages 16+). Donations are accepted and will go towards offsetting travel costs for facilitators and Veteran participants attending A Day of Belonging.

A Day of Belonging
The following day, we continue the celebration with A Day of Belonging, our annual gathering designed to bring people together through creativity, conversation, and connection. Throughout the day, you’ll have the opportunity to explore hands-on art experiences, discover new creative practices, connect with others, and simply enjoy being part of a welcoming community. No artistic experience is required.
- Date: Saturday, September 19th, 9am-4pm
- Location: Rockwood Manor – 11001 Macarthur Blvd, Potomac, MD 20854
Lunch will also be provided. There is a $5 non-refundable registration fee for this event. This event is open to all, ages 16 and older.
