Warriors:

from survival to creation

Curated by Valerie Y. Acosta-González

Warriors: From Survival to Creation brings together six artists—each a Veteran—whose creative practices transform pain into power, and trauma into testimony. This exhibition reveals the invisible battles that continue long after military service, while affirming the transformative role of art in healing.

Through painting and sculpture, these artists redefine survival. Their works trace the raw and painful process of reclaiming the self—a non-linear journey guided by the universal language of art and the strength of community.

This exhibition honors not only the resilience of its artists but also the complexity of recovery itself. Each piece stands as a declaration: that the warrior spirit is not solely defined by combat or defense, but by the courage to confront one’s own wounds and find within them the will to move forward.

Warriors: From Survival to Creation invites viewers to witness the extraordinary courage required to fight battles that linger long after war.
